Spring/Summer outfits
Looking for some outfit inspiration? look no farther!
May 25th, 2020
Hi everyone! Long time, no post! The month of May has totally flown by, and with the school year wrapping up, and maybe a bit of "quarantine blues," I haven't posted. But not to worry, I'm back and better than ever. I wanted to make sure I diversified my content a bit more than I have been--while everyone loves books, it's always nice to see something refreshing and new on the feed. That being said, I put together some outfits that I think really emphasize my excitement that spring has sprung! It's nearly 80 degrees here in Western New York today, which feels a little more like summer than spring, but I'll take warm weather whenever I can get it.
Without further ado, here are some fun, fashionable ideas to consider this season:
Outfit #1) One of my favorite colors to wear is Navy. I think it's so versatile and looks nice with so many different colors and patterns. This outfit is one you could wear in a professional setting, or in a more casual atmosphere. You could wear this out to dinner, at the office, or paired with shorts instead of pants for a "staying around home" look. The necktie gives the outfit a nice pop of color, and in my opinion, provides some nice french vibes. The pants and necktie are both from Old Navy, and the tank is from LOFT.
Outfit #2) I call this outfit the party outfit, mostly because anything with sparkles reminds me of having fun and partying. I actually bought this blouse online from Kohl's while I was still away at school with the idea of wearing it for my birthday (which hasn't happened yet, so stay tuned to see if I actually wear it). The pants are from Old Navy, and are actually the same pants as above in a different color. (PSA: they're called Pixie Pants, and they are AMAZING. For real. Go buy them). When I first bought these ones, I thought they were more on the redder side, but I've since discovered they're a dark pink, like Berry. I think they complement the cream colored shirt really well and give the outfit the color it needs. The headband adds a nice, feminine touch that for me, really completes the look. But of course, the outfit looks great without it as well. The Eiffel Tower earrings are just a cute little edition to give it some French flair (can you tell I love French things?).
Outfit #3) Here's another example of my love for Navy, infused with my other love for stripes. I've found as I get older, I find myself gravitating towards a preppier style. Who knows why. My brother tells me I dress like a "preppy soccer mom" these days, ha! But in all seriousness, I absolutely love the jeans/stripes combo. It's timeless. You could pair a ton of different shoes with this too, but for this time of year I'd probably go with a pair of slide-on shoes like Vans, or sandals. I've worn Birkenstocks with it before. The sparkly belt gives it a little pop of another color. I included my mask with this outfit, because I think it's important to include something that will probably be a big staple of outfits in the coming months, whether we all like it or not. Plus, I think it goes really well color-wise. Jeans are from Old Navy (again) and to be honest, the jacket is somewhat old and I can't remember where it's from. Probably Old Navy, Gap, or LOFT knowing me.
Outfit #4) This outfit is one I put together after realizing I needed to experiment a bit more with my fashion choices. I wear a lot of dark colors and not a lot of exciting patterns, so I decided to try something new. I bought the leopard print skirt during an online Old Navy sale, and I was very nervous about it because I don't usually wear skirts in the style that it is. But, I was pleasantly surprised. I really like how it looks paired with a black tank and sandals, but I think boots would go well with it too. The moto jacket is something I've had for years, and I never wore it. I just didn't think it screamed "Hanna." But I've come to discover it's potential recently, and it pairs really nicely with the skirt. The end result is still very feminine, but with a bit more edge. Certainly a look that provides some confidence and sass.
Outfit #5) For the last outfit of this post, I decided to go super colorful. I love flower patterns, but I find I don't wear them that often. This beautiful midi dress is perfect for a summer day spent with family or friends. It can be dressed up for an elegant look, or worn at a backyard barbecue. The possibilities are endless. Because the dress itself is rather busy, I wouldn't recommend pairing it with a lot of accessories. Let the dress do the trick! But, if you wanted to include jewelry, hoop earrings or even just simple studs would look nice. Watches are also always a good idea, you have to know when the party starts, right?
As always, thanks for reading, and I hope you all have an amazing week. Stay safe and well!
Sincerely,
Hanna
